Samgyetang is a traditional Korean soup known for its rich and nourishing properties. Instructions

  1. Soak the glutinous rice for an hour.
  2. After soaking, stuff the chicken with the soaked glutinous rice, garlic, jujubes, and chestnuts.
  3. Sew the opening of the chicken closed or close it tightly with a toothpick.
  4. In a large pot, add the stuffed chicken and the ginseng.
  5. Pour enough water into the pot to submerge the chicken.
  6. Over medium-high heat, bring the soup to a boil. Then reduce the heat to medium and continue to boil for about 1 hour 30 minutes. Add water as needed.
  7. Once the chicken is fully cooked and the soup has reached the desired flavor, season with salt and pepper.
  8. Garnish with green onions when serving.
