Description

Sinigang is a traditional Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour and savory flavor. Known as a comfort dish, its bright, tangy broth livens up the taste buds, while the tender pork and the mix of vegetables provide wholesome nourishment.

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot and add the pork cubes. Cook until all sides are browned.
  2. Add onions and tomatoes and cook until softened.
  3. Pour in the water, bring it to boil.
  4. Once boiling, add the sinigang mix, fish sauce, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Lower the heat and let it simmer until pork is tender, for about 40 minutes.
  6. Add the radish, okra, long green chili peppers, and optional ingredients if any. Cook for another 10 minutes.
  7. Lastly, add the kangkong leaves. Cook for an additional 2 minutes then turn off the heat.
  8. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  9. Serve hot with a side of white rice.
